Aurelia Marie

In case it wasn’t clear,since we have a new baby on the way,we have two new blogs. Simon Augustus gets his own website at www.simonaugustus.com. Both Aurelia and Simon’s blog posts will be combined into one blog that will contain blogposts from the existing blog plus any posts that are more family centric at www.ourlittleemperors.com. Both blogs are in a presentable format now. Enjoy!

Getting ready to blow out her candles. Poor girl missed out on having a homemade birthday cake this year because of the heat. After we received our electric bill for last month,we set the thermostat on 80 and have left it there. I just could not bear to turn on the oven when it is was sooooo hot. Besides,all the icing would have been too soft to decorate the cake,anyway (like it nearly was last year). Yeah,she blew out all three candles!! Yum! Cupcakes! She has asked for a “princess cake,” and these cupcakes each came with some sort of girliness on top. I guess a purse,tiara and clear heels (glass slippers?) qualified,because she was pleased. We chased the cupcakes with a bit of watermelon – double yum! Tabitha took a really cute video of Aurie icking her face between bites. If you’ve ever seen a cow eating and slinging its tongue around,then you get the idea. I’ll have to get Marcus to cut the chattery background out of it and post the vid. It is great!! Presents!! We bought her a little splash pool for the backyard. She thought the water was too cold,so Mommy volunteered to get in with her. Then it started to rain,so we had to get an umbrella to cover our heads. :) (I would not have posted a picture of me in a bathing suit had it not been for her in front of me with an umbrella for distraction.) The other present was a little play tent with a tunnel. Last night,she asked if she could sleep in her tunnel. Maybe this weekend…. Here’s another shot of her aquarium outfit. I love the teddy bear hanging out of her backpack. Note the long strap on the back,too. She always wants the leash attached,even if we aren’t even using it.
