Umbrella!!!

On Wednesday, I took Aurelia with me to the Christian bookstore to get a card for my grandpa who is turning 80 and retiring this weekend. Happy Birthday, by the way!! While we were there, I noticed that the VeggieTales DVDs were on sale, so I bought her one. It was about “Noah’s umbrella,” so she got this free little green umbrella with the episode. She was so excited. It may have been a record for using the word “umbrella” that many times in a single day.

So, I dropped her off at the nursery, and Marcus took her on home at about 8:00 while I was still practicing with the praise team for Sunday. He didn’t know that the umbrella was hers, and she cried all the way home! Boy did he feel terrible the next day! I finally picked it up on Friday, and that is when she was running around outside with it saying “it’s raining…umbrella!.” We have heard “it’s raining” about every day since then, even if it is just a little overcast. On Friday evening, Marcus got home late, so I took Aurelia swimming when we got home. She wanted to bring the umbrella to the pool because it started raining while we were walking over. We swam anyway (umbrella-less) for about 30 minutes until the teeth chattering was too much for me to stand. It took more than 3 hours for her mouth to stop being blue!!
