Aurelia had her 2-year check up last Friday. She is still just a LittleBit! as we all suspected,but the numbers confirm my observation. She weighs 24lbs and is 34 inches tall. That puts her in the 10 to 25%’ile for the weight and 50 to 75th for height. I guess my back is grateful that she is not at the top of her percentile for weight!!
Grandmaw Wright came last week,and we had a great time. We all went to Jackson’s house on Tuesday to pick blackberries. That was a popular idea until the kids realized that there were thorns. After that,there was a lot of whining –but also a lot of snacking on berries,so it all came out OK. Aurelia probably ate about 2 cups of berries,I estimate. She also was a big fan of the blackberry dumplings that Grandmaw made that evening. They were wonderful –really –you should be e-mailing me and asking how to make this –it is fantastic,and you don’t have to heat up your house with the oven to make it in the middle of the summer –my favorite part. (Was that a run-on,or what?) NOTE:the “w”on grandmaw is intentional. My mom’s initials are MAW,so she want it spelled that way…:)
Thursday night,we had a b-day party. Unfortunately,Tanglewood decided to close the pool,so we didn’t get to swim with our friends that came. Jackson and Alba were the only kiddos,but lots of grown-ups came,too. We grilled outside and then came in out of the heat and humidity to have cake and melon. Yummy! I’ll be posting some photos soon –perhaps when I go home for lunch,today.
