So, the interesting thing that happened today. We were dancing along to her favorite video when suddenly, Aurie turned around, reached under the couch, picked up an alarm clock in the shape of a DragonBall Z cartoon, and returned to dancing while hugging the clock. I looked at Sarah and started laughing. What was going on in her head? Like, really?
It gets better. I decided to put batteries in it to see if I could get it to work again. Last time I had batteries in it, it made a whining sound instead of the wonderful “Do do-do-do do do! Good Morning!” and repeat over and over sound. The batteries worked! And this was a source of great entertainment for Aurie as she did her weird shoulder arms out dance. On top of that, I got her to say Go-Ku once which is one of the various characters name on DBZ. When I stopped the alarm sound to appease Sarah, Aurie furrowed her eyebrows (her eyebrow muscles since she doesn’t have any brows just like Sarah) gave me a weird look, and then began to throw a tantrum.
Finally, a big smile caught on camera. There were actually lots of these that morning.
Leaving the parade route in the wagon.
Watching the homecoming game with Daddy. 12:30 kickoff equals naptime!
On Friday morning, Aurelia and Mommy got onto the big blue bus and rode to campus to watch the parade. I decided that parking would be awful, so we would just use public transportation, instead. We used the sling, again, and it worked great to have her “lashed on” to my hip for the ride and walking to the parade route. It was such a rainy day. We were all quite soaked by the end of the parade.
Our friends Kate and Jackson met us, and we enjoyed some lunch and then the parade together. Aurie and Jackson hung out in his wagon to watch the action – great idea, Kate! Here are some choice picks from the parade.
The marching bands were her favorite. As they went by, she would bounce and clap to the music while standing in the wagon. (It had slatted sides.) The firetrucks with their loud sirens were a little too scary, though.
These last few posts are from our trip to see Brian and Glenda in Tallahassee. To see some other really great photos, visit their blog with this link!
