Aurelia Marie

Although it may be hard to tell, she really likes it up there on top of my head. She likes to coo and pull my hair, which is fortunately not long enough to hurt. As usual, when we turn the camera on, she stops smiling big.

For those concerned, the bottle is an empty IBC rootbeer bottle. Sarah wouldn’t even let me give the kid soda.

It’s not really a hat, more like a headband. You get the idea.

 

 

 

 

I took Aurelia to the doctor on Friday, and she is doing so well. She is healthy and strong and right on target, developmentally. Weighing in at 14 lbs, 14oz, she is at the ~80th percentile, and she is in the 95th for length at 28 3/4 inches — still a big girl. The other day, a man asked me if she was 8 months old, and then proceeded to tell me all about his little 2 year-old. Funny how people do that… Anyway, I’m happy and thankful that she is doing so well.

This afternoon, I took her with me to the mall, and she was fussy in the stroller, so I carried her in the HotSling. She loves to be snuggly, especially when she is sleepy, which seemed to be the problem. I get so many comments and googly-eyed looks (directed towards her) when “wearing” Aurelia, and she likes to be up closer to my eye-level so that she can see around the rooms. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother with the stroller, since I end up wearing her instead so much of the time when I go out. I’ve been putting her forward in the stroller, but she still flops side to side a bit – perhaps it isn’t all that comfortable for her, yet. I dunno…
